Redundant setup
All servers, switches, data storage on the SAN, cables and network connections are set up redundantly. Moreover all climate systems and power supplies including the UPS systems and diesel generators are set up in a N+1 arrangement. Furthermore, if problems occur in the Dutch internet traffic routing, then the connection is automatically relocated to Germany.

Backup service
Every night a complete backup is created of your files and databases. Also every three hours an incremental backup is created which includes all changes in regard to the youngest complete backup. The complete backups have a retention of 2 days. You can access your backups yourself at any given time. The complete backups are redundantly stored at a safe and remote nuclear shelter.

User friendly control panel
The custom developed control panel at RailsCluster enables you to manage your account 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Trough an intuitive interface you can view and update data belonging to your account. Changes in the Control Panel are automatically synchronized with the servers.

Safest location
The RailsCluster platform is located at the safest data centre in the Netherlands: Equinix EN1. This location is ISO 27001 certified (ISO 9001:2000 expected Q1 2009) and is housed in the former gold storage facility of The Dutch Bank. The location is equipped with a nuclear shelter, bulletproof glass, steel fence, tourniquet access ports, 24/7 monitoring by video and personnel, magnetic access cards with four security levels, two-phase fire-security and more.

Transparent HTTP Compression
The load balancers use transparentHTTP compression with a cross-browser compatible algorithm. This compresses web pages and assets which makes them faster to load. Because the process of compression is transparent the web servers are not stressed and the compression does not affect the performance of your web-application.

SSL offloading
The load balancers handle all the SSL traffic that is generated for web pages secured by HTTPS with a capacity of 1.000 tps. Because the web servers are no longer responsible for the SSL traffic handling performance of your web-application is improved. The sub domain of your account is equipped with an entrusted SSL certificate free of charge. Additionally own certificates can be installed for an extra price.
